ABF - The Soldiers' Charity

1st February 2013

ABF - The Soldiers' Charity

Every year, a different military charity gets nominated by the staff at NAAFI CSO, to receive any moneys raised and this year, all the pennies went to the Army Benevolent Fund.

The money was raised during the year, through various table top sales ran by the Commercial team, who were selling samples from the suppliers. The goodies sold consisted of Perfume, Make up, Alcohol, Toys, Books, Sweets, Fresh Chickens, Vegetables, Yoghurts, Bread, Cakes, Hot Dogs, Pizza and Burgers.

Generally, the Table Top events are organised by Jackie Thomas and Katherine French, with the exception of the Food and Beverage samples, which tend to be hosted by the F&B team once they have finished with product selection and cooking in the kitchen. All the moneys raised from various Commercial Teams end up in one big pot and this year, the team have managed to raise a massive £3,500.

Lt Col (Retd) Brian de la Haye OBE came to receive the cheque on behalf of the ABF. Thanks to the generosity of everyone in the Beehive, who raised a great total, yet again, for a very worthwhile charity.
