Call of Duty: Black Ops II launch

27th November 2012

Call of Duty: Black Ops II launch

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II is, undoubtedly, one of the biggest games of 2012 and any big blockbuster release must have a blockbuster midnight launch.

All of our NAAFI Max stores held an official midnight launch at 00:00 on Tuesday 13th November, which seen eager gamers being able to pick up their copy, as the clock struck midnight.

Gamers were not only going to be treated to the release of the game, but also to a play through of the single player campaign and some stores even had hot baps and coffee on sale to warm the cockles from the wait?

Fallingbostel Max had 6 staff members dressed in military attire inside a military style tent and alone sold over 40 copies with another 143 pre-orders.

The games were distributed around Afghanistan, with the new Supervisor Genevieve travelling by helicopter to Lashkar Gah and Gereshk, only getting off to pass stock and give her colleagues a quick high 5! Chrissie and George were up early waiting for their trips to Kabul and Kandahar to deliver the goodies all before the shops opened at 8am local time. The Afghanistan QM's Department kindly donated a combat jacket, only to be picked apart by Jess and made into Rambo style headbands. She then caught all of her colleagues on their way to work to dress them and add a bit of Cam cream!

Overall, 179 copies of the hugely successful game was sold around Germany alone within the 2 hour NAAFI opening, this figure then crept up to a massive 787 within the first 24 hours!

Again, another opportunity to bring a taste of home to the troops around the world!
