The sailors at HMS Collingwood have received a much-needed boost to their well-being, thanks to a £5,500 grant from the NAAFI Fund. The money has been used to create a beautiful new garden and outdoor rest area, adjacent to the Junior Rates Dining Hall.
The new space is the perfect place for sailors to relax and unwind after a long day of training or duty. Featuring landscaped areas with colourful flowers, a cosy wooden gazebo and comfortable rattan furniture, there are also plenty of parasols to provide shade on sunny days.
By providing funding for projects like this, the NAAFI Fund helps to create a more positive and supportive environment for all service personnel.
WO1 Mark Gower, Base Warrant Officer and Project Lead, said “The well-being garden and rest area has been a wonderful addition to HMS Collingwood. With the help of the NAAFI Fund, we have filled an unused space with greenery, shrubbery and furniture. The lived experience is important, ensuring our personnel are looked after. I would like to thank NAAFI for their very kind donation and support.”
