All throughout April, NAAFI has been celebrating the Month of the Military Child and bringing awareness to all the children connected to the military — recognising the daily sacrifices they make and the challenges they overcome. From hosting a coffee morning with parents from NAAFI HQ, who either have children in the military or were military children themselves, to throwing a tea and cupcake event at Head Office, it’s been a meaningful month.

NAAFI Fund

Throughout April, our NAAFI Fund was busy highlighting all the projects that have helped improve the welfare of military children around the world — from improving outdoor play areas for families, to building a garden where children can grow their own food and enjoy wooden animal hunts. We’ve also helped fund a range of equipment including sports kits, an indoor bouncy castle, and more.

Coffee Morning

We hosted a coffee morning at The Bridge Deck in Whiteley near Head Office for our staff, creating a space to hear personal stories and experiences of growing up in military families.

Tea and Cupcake / Purple Up! Day

On Friday, 25th April, NAAFI marked the Month of the Military Child by encouraging staff to wear purple — a recognised symbol of support. We celebrated with specially made cupcakes featuring custom icing toppers of our logos, bringing everyone together for a lovely end to the month.
