NAAFI Volunteers Make a Difference in Ghana

We’re shining a spotlight on Rachel Elliot, NAAFI Manager onboard RFA Lyme Bay, who went above and beyond the call of during a recent deployment in Ghana.

While docked, Rachel volunteered with the ship’s company to paint a local primary school. Lending a helping hand to improve the learning facilities for these young students.

To add a touch of NAAFI to the painting project, Rachel distributed chocolate bars to the children and teachers, who doesn’t love a sweet treat? This small gesture brought smiles to everyone’s faces and helped build a connection between the ship’s company and the local community.

Rachel’s selfless act of volunteering perfectly embodies NAAFI’s commitment to giving back. Through a variety of welfare projects, the NAAFI Fund, and countless initiatives across our locations, we strive to enhance the lives of both our Armed Forces personnel and the communities we serve & visit.

By supporting local causes and fostering positive relationships, NAAFI continues to make a significant positive impact on the lives of many across the world.

Have you ever volunteered whilst on deployment? We’d love for you to share your stories over at @naafisocial.
