Making Memories, One Bounce at a Time!
It’s April, and that means we are celebrating Month of the Military Child! We’re honouring all the awesome kids and families who make the military community so amazing.
The NAAFI Fund is all about supporting Armed Forces communities, both at home and overseas. We believe that a little bit of fun can go a long way in creating strong bonds and we’re absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news from across the pond!
We recently granted £500 to the wonderful team at Prize Barracks in Belize, and their plan was to bring a whole lot of joy to the local community and the British Army Training Support Unit Belize (BATSUB) personnel.
With their grant, they managed to purchase a Bouncy Castle and other garden games, which are destined to become a centrepiece of fun, laughter, and active play at various community events and gatherings in Belize.
This initiative perfectly aligns with our mission to support families and promote well-being within the Armed Forces community, wherever they are around the world. For our BATSUB personnel and their families stationed in Belize, having access to such recreational activities can make a real difference in their quality of life. It provides a safe and engaging outlet for children’s boundless energy and offers a fantastic opportunity for families to connect and create happy memories.
But the impact doesn’t stop there. By making this bouncy castle available at local community events, Prize Barracks is fostering stronger relationships and building bridges with their Belizean neighbours.
This project truly demonstrates how a relatively small grant can have a significant and positive impact. £500 has enabled the procurement and setup of this fantastic inflatable attraction, bringing countless smiles and is a testament to the community spirit at Prize Barracks, and we at the NAAFI Fund are incredibly proud to have supported their vision.
WO2 Prakash Gauchan, Project Lead, said “The bouncy castle is a huge hit with the children. It really makes the community events more lively and enjoyable for everyone. It gives children a safe place to play while parents can relax and enjoy the rest of the festivities. A big thank you to the NAAFI Fund for making this happen!”
If you’ve got a wish list for something that could benefit your community, get in touch and tell us all about it @naafisocial – no idea is too small.
