From Successful Application to Completed Project in just Four Months!
We’re excited to showcase a £3,800 project delivered to the AeroSystems Training Squadron at RAF Cosford, one of our amazing 2024 awardees. A much-needed Crew Room Upgrade designed to provide students with a safe and welcoming environment to unwind and connect during their breaks.
Let’s face it, the demands of studying can be intense. That’s why we were so impressed with the Squadron’s vision to create a space where students can truly relax and recharge. And what does that relaxation look like? Think fun and friendly competition!
The new and improved crew room boasts some exciting additions, including a classic dartboard for those precision throws, a sleek pool table for strategic shots, an energetic table football setup for fast-paced fun and the ultimate throwback – an arcade game to bring out everyone’s inner gamer.
But this upgrade wasn’t just about fun and games (though that’s a definite bonus). It’s also about fostering crucial social skills through interaction with students from different trades. This cross-pollination of knowledge and perspectives can only strengthen the RAF Cosford community.
We believe this revitalised crew room will be a welcome opportunity to step away from their demanding academic schedule, allowing students to de-stress, connect, and return to their learning feeling refreshed and ready to tackle their next challenge.
Squadron Leader Park, OC AeroSystems Training Squadron, said “The NAAFI Fund initiative has greatly enhanced the training experience for all trainees, especially those on their Avionics Foundation Engineering Technical Training at RAF Cosford. With exceptional welfare and support systems established, the NAAFI Fund has helped to provide a valuable break area that offers well-deserved respite from the high demands of their studies.”
