NAAFI Fund Supports UK NSE in Spain with New Outdoor Equipment Grant
Carrying on with our Month of the Military Child themed NAAFI Fund projects throughout April, celebrating all the awesome kids and families who make our military community so amazing, we’re whisking over to Spain for our next one.
The NAAFI Fund awarded a grant of £5,405 to the EJSU (European Joint Support Unit) to secure some new outdoor activity equipment. With this fantastic grant, they were able to purchase various equipment for a range of activities which caters for everybody
- Paddleboards
- Archery Equipment
- Camping Equipment
- Mountain Bikes (with safety helmets and accessories!)
- Fishing Equipment
- Basketball Hoops
This means everyone in the UK military community in Spain will have even more chances to make new friends and try out various outdoor activities in numerous public parks and outdoor spaces in areas such as Madrid.
This amazing community boost from the NAAFI Fund is going to bring tons of smiles and fun times to the UK military community in Spain.
Antonio Moya, Project Lead thanked the NAAFI for their financial contribution to the project stating “The arrival of the NAAFI funded equipment has already begun to improve the lived experience of our personnel and their families. With the outstanding climate that we are fortunate to have here in Spain, we now have the tools to create our own outdoor social and sporting events, in lieu of having a fixed community facility. Thanks to NAAFI, we will be able to enjoy this, and future, Spanish summers to the max!”
Corporal K, a serving personnel benfitting from the equipment said “This is a great area for mountain biking, so the addition of 4 bikes to our inventory means that groups of work mates or families can get out together and enjoy the fabulous routes.”
