NAAFI Fund Grant Helps Officers’ Training Corps Get on Track

WUOTC Boosts Adventure Training with NAAFI Fund Grant

The Wales Universities Officers’ Training Corps (WUOTC) received a £7,774 grant from the NAAFI Fund to purchase mountain bikes for 240 staff and cadets.

These bikes will enhance adventure training in Wales, developing leadership and resilience.

The WUOTC has already tested the bikes during a successful adventure training weekend, providing a challenging but rewarding experience for all involved.

The bikes will be used for various training exercises, including expeditions, camps, and other adventurous activities.

Project Lead, Carl Taylor, said: “Adventure Training is a vital part of Teamwork, Resilience and Leadership, developing skills on the latest technology of Mountain Bike equipment, in various environments, working as individuals or as a team.”

The new mountain bikes have allowed more officers, cadets and staff to participate in training, filling a gap caused by a lack of suitable equipment in the past.
