Unlocking Aquatic Adventures: NAAFI Fund Backs RNPA
The NAAFI Fund is delighted to have awarded the Royal Navy Paddlesport Association (RNPA) a grant of £16,500. This funding has bolstered the RNPA’s activities through the purchase of paddlesport equipment, spanning the exciting disciplines of Polo, Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), and White Water kayaking.
Our aim is to enhance the quality of life for service personnel, and we were particularly impressed by the RNPA’s commitment to adventure. It’s fantastic to see this grant already in action, directly benefiting over 30 individuals during Ex Rapid Oetz in Austria and Ex Rapid Rhone 24 in France. Seeing the impact of our support, enabling personnel to engage in challenging and rewarding activities, is precisely what the NAAFI Fund strives for.
We believe that providing access to sports and adventurous training equipment for use on opportunities like these contributes significantly to the wellbeing and morale of those who serve.
We look forward to seeing the continued success and expansion of the Royal Navy Paddlesport Association, and we are proud to play a part in equipping their members for future aquatic adventures.
Cdr Paul Bastieans, RNPA Chair, said “My thanks to the NAAFI Fund who have enabled the RNPA to update, upgrade and expand our holdings to provide more paddlesports opportunities to serving Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Navy Reserve and Royal Marines Reserve personnel.”
