UK families are getting ready to hit the slopes in Norway thanks to a generous ยฃ2,000 grant from the NAAFI Fund.ย Families stationed at the Joint Warfare Centre in Southern Norway are now better equipped to embrace the snowy wonderland that surrounds them.ย
The grant has made a significant impact by providing a much-needed supply of cross-country skis, boots, and ski bags. This means that families of all ages can now easily borrow the gear and explore the beautiful Norwegian countryside on skis.ย
Cross-country skiing is a fantastic way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors during the long Norwegian winter. It’s a relatively gentle activity that’s suitable for people of all fitness levels, making it perfect for families with children and young adults.ย
With their new gear, UK families can embark on exciting skiing adventures through the stunning Norwegian forests and along picturesque frozen lakes. They’ll be able to experience the tranquility and beauty of the winter landscape firsthand.ย
Cross-country skiing is a deeply ingrained part of Norwegian culture, and participating in this activity is a great way for UK families to connect with their local community and learn more about Norwegian traditions.ย ย
A Squadron Leader based in Norway said โ”The NAAFI grant has supported the UK community in Stavanger, Norway to make the most of the incredible location we are based in. Cross-country skiing is a fantastic family activity, with all ages taking to the mountains to ski, share a picnic and explore the outdoors. The provision of a range of sizes of skis and footwear by the NAAFI has allowed our family to teach our 3-year-old twins how to cross-country ski and enjoy this great sport as a family.”ย ย
