Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund opens for applications
We’re excited to announce that Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund is now open for applications. Launched in 2020, the Fund aims to improve the quality of life for serving personnel and their families and over the next decade it’s committed to returning a minimum of £7.5m back to Armed Forces Units to invest in their own welfare projects.
Funding is available to UK Armed Forces wherever they are based in the world and the Fund is particularly interested in projects or activities that will help bring people together to improve the quality of life for their communities.
To date, the NAAFI Fund has supported 162 projects and donated almost £2m. Following a successful first round last year, it awarded further grants totaling over £1 million in its second round recently. 96 projects received grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 to put towards a range of initiatives to support the Armed Forces community.
Steve Marshall, CEO, NAAFI said: “It’s been incredible to see the positive impact the NAAFI Fund has had on our Armed Forces in the UK and abroad. The Fund has made a real difference to the lives of serving personnel and their families by supporting brilliant projects like the development of much-needed social hubs, to improving play and sports equipment. We’re looking forward to seeing this round’s applications and continuing to support our communities across the world over the coming months.”
