Outdoor Area for Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

During Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund, £23,500 was awarded to Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to install an all-weather outdoor area.

The REME provide essential engineering support, maintaining and repairing a vast array of British Army equipment, following the Army wherever they operate around the world.

This project has provided a larger space for parents to supervise their children whilst playing, giving them a space to socialise with the community. The shelter ensures there’s always time for play whatever the weather, meaning the fun never stops!

Project sponsor, Rachael Murphy, said: “This project has been a huge benefit to the community, with over half of the 2000 serving personnel on site having young families.

‘The project has received a lot of interest from the public asking if they can use the play park too, as it has lots of benefits including beautiful seating areas.”
