The Royal Navy Culinary Arts Team, sponsored by NAAFI, brought home an impressive 44 awards at the prestigious Exercise Joint Caterer competition.
The fiercely-contested two-day event, held at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre near Coventry, saw chefs and stewards from the Royal Navy go head-to-head with their counterparts from the Royal Air Force and the British Army in the ultimate cook-off.
Whilst the RAF ultimately took top honours, the Royal Navy demonstrated outstanding professionalism and culinary flair, securing a remarkable haul of accolades.
A Feast of Success
The 40-strong Culinary Arts Team, proudly supported by NAAFI for the second competition running, underlined the stunning cookery and dedication they bring to galleys on warships across the globe. Their commitment translated into:

9 Silver Medals
14 Bronze Medals
9 Merit Awards
7 Best in Class Titles
Among their key achievements were winning Best Galley Team in the Senior Cook and Serve category, securing the title of Junior Steward of the Year, and being crowned Best Galley Team in the Parade de Chefs competition.
Building on Excellence
Team captain Chief Petty Officer Shaun Willis praised the squad’s performance and growth: “I couldn’t be prouder of the entire team and the journey each of them has been on throughout the two-week workshop and the competition itself. From those who stepped up to mentor our newest team members, to individuals entering the arena for the first time, the level of professional and personal growth has been outstanding. I’m already excited to see how we continue to build on this success and attack the competition full on next time.”
The Navy team delighted judges and spectators alike, serving up a diverse array of stunning dishes that spanned from global street food and exquisite fine dining courses to incredible celebratory cakes.
