Mountain bikes for 24 Commando Royal Engineers

In 2022, 24 Commando Royal Engineers were awarded funding of around £19,500 to purchase mountain bikes for their unit. Located in North Devon and surrounded by glorious landscapes, it’s the perfect area for a spin!

The bikes purchased have allowed families of the unit to gather on weekends and cycle along the popular Tarka Trail; a cycling route which links together various hot spots in North Devon. This project has improved the team dynamic by providing an enjoyable team activity for every department and all those associated with 24 Commando Royal Engineers.

Michael Tatton, of 24 Commando, said: “The bikes have been a huge benefit to service personnel and dependents. It has been great to see the unit take in the local area and to discover hidden beautiful areas of the county that they previously didn’t know about.”
