Outdoor Area for Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

During Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund, Β£23,500 was awarded to Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to install an all-weather outdoor area.

The REME provideΒ essentialΒ engineering support, maintaining and repairing a vast array of British Army equipment,Β followingΒ the Army wherever they operate around the world.Β

This project has provided a larger space for parents to supervise their children whilstΒ playing, givingΒ them a space to socialiseΒ withΒ the community. The shelter ensures there’sΒ alwaysΒ time for playΒ whatever the weather, meaning the fun never stops!

Project sponsor, Rachael Murphy, said: β€œThis project has been a huge benefit to the community, with over half of the 2000 serving personnel on site having young families.Β

β€˜The project has received a lot of interest from the public asking if they can use the play park too, as it has lots of benefits including beautiful seating areas.”
