During Round 3, funding of £10,000 was awarded for some brand-new outdoor equipment to improve the livelihoods of serving families.
The Army regiment based in Tidworth, England, received significant improvements to their outdoor welfare facilities including four gazebos, BBQ equipment and a hog roast machine.
The gazebos are also used for Royal Welsh Rugby matches; congratulations to the team who recently progressed through multiple rounds of the Army Cup, taking the outcome of this project nationwide!
Events at the Battalion can now be enjoyed by everyone with the installation of a BBQ and hog roast station, with the capacity to cater for over 200 people.
Project sponsor, Captain S Smith, said: “This project’s aim was to improve the experience that serving personnel and their families had when visiting the welfare house, and it has done just that!
‘The introduction of the gazebos has meant that families now have a place to gather outdoors to relax when there is poor weather. It cannot be taken for granted the positive impact this funding has had, not only for the regiment, but for the local community as well.”
