Project Zen for 901 Expeditionary Air Wing

During Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund, £6,000 was awarded to 901 Expeditionary Air Wing to transform various communal areas in coalition accommodation.

Based in Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar, this project’s aim was to improve the wellbeing of stationed troops with a range of entertainment options, from games consoles and TV’s to mountain bikes and helmets.

This project helped to create a positive team ethos and increase social interaction among stakeholders, reducing isolation.

Project sponsor, Tanya Miller-Anderson, said: “The funding from the NAAFI Fund has created a warm, relaxing environment for service personnel to enjoy their much-needed down time.

‘The refurbishment has ensured personnel with varying interests can enjoy their time off of work.”
