Inside the centre, there are various areas where young people who attend the Youth Club can hang out, make new friends, and participate in exciting activities. There’s something for younger children too; a space filled with colourful lights, calming sounds and fun textures to explore – a sensory room that will be a blast for kids of all ages!
Parents and babies can look forward to attending parenting and baby courses, learning valuable skills and connecting with other parents in the area. And during school holidays, The Haven Centre will be buzzing with children’s holiday activities, keeping the little ones entertained and engaged.
But that’s not all! The Haven Centre is also inviting other organizations and groups to get involved and share their expertise with the community. This means even more opportunities for learning, fun, and connection!
The Haven Centre is already becoming a popular spot for families and young people in Tidworth and the surrounding areas.
Lieutenant Colonel Rupert Whitelegge said “NAAFI’s name is used every day by Service People and their families, often as a by-word for any café – a sign of its powerful brand identity. What is less well understood is its continuing brilliance to apply effort and resources at the right time and place to support the Army and its people. The Haven Centre is a brilliant example. Without the NAAFI this would be an empty building, but because of the NAAFI Fund grant, children in the area have another safe space, helping them grow. NAAFI know the cost of that, although few of us can understand its true worth; but, for the individuals I met at The Haven, what the NAAFI has done is simply invaluable. Thank you so much to the NAAFI for their contribution to The Haven: they should be very proud of what they have done, just another example of their eternal brilliance and relevance.”
