NAAFI awarded Defence Employers Recognition Scheme Silver award

NAAFI was recently awarded the Defence Employers Recognition Scheme Silver award. The scheme recognises employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

The win is a very proud moment for NAAFI. NAAFI CEO, Steve Marshall commented:

“NAAFI was founded 100 years ago with a mission to ‘serve the services’ wherever they are in the world. As the MOD’s In-house catering, retail, leisure and facilities service provider, we continue this mission today through providing NAAFI services, or funding vital welfare projects through the NAAFI Fund, particularly in locations where access to local welfare services is more challenging.

We also support our wider Armed Forces population as a proud employer of veterans, sponsored reserves and non-serving spouses and dependants and by supporting projects for cadet forces and reserve centres across the UK through the NAAFI Fund.

We are deeply honoured to serve and support our armed forces and are truly delighted, in our centenary year, to be awarded the Silver Defence Employers Award in recognition of our service to the wider Armed Forces community.”
