BMATT(CZ) Thrive Together!

We all know that sports can be a total game-changer, not just for your body, but also for your mental health and social life. That’s why the NAAFI Fund was proud to support the BMATT (British Military Advisory and Training Team)’s Thrive Together project in the Czech Republic, with a £14,000 grant.

BMATT purchased some new sports gear including bikes, paddleboards, kayaks and tents to encourage activity, meeting new people and promoting a further sense of community. By picking sports that are popular in the Czech Republic, personnel can easily join the fun in their local community.  Imagine playing a friendly match with your new Czech friends without having to worry about language barriers – sports are a universal language, after all!

A Royal Marines member of the community said “Having this equipment available to us has been amazing. It has allowed me to take my family out to enjoy sports we probably wouldn’t have tried before and explore new paddle boarding spots.”

Colonel TPD Morris expressed his gratitude for the extremely kind donation towards purchasing a range of outdoor pursuits equipment for use by the BMATT personnel and families.

What sports do you think we should try next?
