During Round 3 of the NAAFI Fund, ยฃ23,500 was awarded to Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to install an all-weather outdoor area.
The REME provideย essentialย engineering support, maintaining and repairing a vast array of British Army equipment,ย followingย the Army wherever they operate around the world.ย
This project has provided a larger space for parents to supervise their children whilstย playing, givingย them a space to socialiseย withย the community. The shelter ensures thereโsย alwaysย time for playย whatever the weather, meaning the fun never stops!
Project sponsor, Rachael Murphy, said: โThis project has been a huge benefit to the community, with over half of the 2000 serving personnel on site having young families.ย
โThe project has received a lot of interest from the public asking if they can use the play park too, as it has lots of benefits including beautiful seating areas.โ
